Reselling Woxelo
Running client accounts under your own account.
Reselling is for agencies and freelancers who build for other people. Instead of adding clients as teammates — which would give them the run of your workspace — you open a resell account for each one. They get their own account and their own projects; you keep the relationship and the oversight.
Teammates or resell accounts?
| Teammate | Resell account | |
|---|---|---|
| Sees | Every project in your workspace | Only their own |
| Suits | Colleagues building alongside you | Clients you build for |
| Projects belong to | The shared workspace | The client account |
Opening one
From Resell in the sidebar, or the Resell tab in Settings, invite the client by email. They receive an invitation, set up their own sign-in, and land in an account of their own. Your resell accounts are listed together, with their usage, so you can see who is close to a limit.
If Resell is not in your sidebar, your plan does not include it. Ask support what it would take.
Working this way
- Build the site in your account first, then hand it over once the client has approved it — you keep the messy drafts out of their view.
- Use templates for the shape of site you build repeatedly. Every client then starts from the same solid base.
- Generate each client their own legal pages — one policy cannot legitimately cover two different businesses.
- Connect the client's own domain rather than leaving them on a Woxelo address. See publishing and custom domains.
